Do Not Advertise Your Generosity

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful In the world of social media, a disease that has plagued us is showing off (this is riyaa'). We do one good deed and it seems we must take its picture and announce to the world. We shoot a video and share it on Facebook or tweet about it or upload on Youtube with the intent to gather the most appreciations in forms of comments, likes and reshares. Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala) says in the Quran, "By no means shall you attain Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, etc., it means here Allah's Reward, i.e. Paradise), unless you spend (in Allah's Cause) of that which you love; and whatever of good you Read more ...
Jihad in the path of Satan

ISIS: Jihad in the Path of Satan

Jihad in the Path of Satan - Terrorists fight in cause of Satan A muslim scholar explains the obligation of maintaining public safety for Muslims and non-Muslims alike; that terrorists who spread fear in society fight in the path of Satan - so it is obligatory upon the Muslim scholars and parents to protect their youth from the ideologies of the extremists and bloodthirsty terrorists and to exonerate Islam from the treachery of these terrorists towards the most basic foundations of the Religion. The Muslim scholar, Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan said: All praise is due to Allah and may the peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and his Read more ...

The Prostration is on all Seven

If a person does not prostrate on all seven parts of the body, then is his prayer invalid? Praise be to Allah.   When a worshiper prostrates, he must prostrate on all seven parts of the body on which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded us to prostrate. They are: the face, including the forehead and nose; the two hands; the two knees; and the edges of the two feet (i.e., the toes). Al-Nawawi said: "If he omits any of them, then his prayer is not valid." [From Sharh Muslim] Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen said:  "It is not permissible for a worshiper to lift up any of these seven parts of the body when prostrating, because the Read more ...

Openings for Iblis

"It is a pity," argued Gai Eaton, "that so few people believe any longer in the shaytan, the devil, if not in a personalised form, at least as an influence or a tendency. We need to be able to identify evil, not only when it manifests itself in genocide or torture, but in its roots and its ramifications. We need also to understand how subtly it can operate behind the scenes, seldom showing its true face … The idea of the devil, in Islam as in Christianity, has been that of a force – an agency – which reverses values, making evil seem good, and good seem evil."  [Remembering God: Reflections on Islam (Cambridge: The Islamic Texts Society, 2000), 22] The Read more ...

The Bitter Consequences of Sins

It  is essential to know that sins and acts of disobedience are,  necessarily, very harmful. Their harmful effects upon the heart are  akin to the harmful effects of poison upon the body, though the effects  vary in their levels and intensities. So is there any evil or harm in  this world, or in the Hereafter, except that it is due to sins and  disobedience? So what was it that expelled the  two parents [i.e. Adam and Eve] from Paradise; the home of delight,  bliss, splendor and joy; to the home of pain, sorrow and misfortune? What was it that expelled Iblees [i.e. Satan] from the heavenly realms,  causing him to be rejected and cursed; transforming Read more ...

Promises and Hopes

Satan makes false promises to humans and gives them sweet dreams in order to mislead them. Allah says, "Satan makes them promises, and creates in them false desires; but Satan's promises are nothing but deception." (Surah Al-Nisa', 4:120) In their battle against the believers, he promised the disbelievers aid, honor and victory. Then he fled from them and left them by themselves. "Remember Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them, and said: "No one among men can overcome you this day, while I am near to you": But when the two forces came in sight of each other, he turned on his heels, and said: "Lo! I am clear of you; lo! I see what ye see Read more ...

Ramadan : The Food you waste is another Person’s Meal

Wasting food is a sin in Islam and a big violation of the very concept of Ramadan. Other than the numerous health benefits, fasting teaches a moral to Muslims to feel and understand the hunger, deprivation and suffering of fellow human beings. Jabir (RA) reported: "I heard Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) as saying: 'The Satan is present with any one of you in everything he does; he is present even when he eats food; so if any one of you drops a mouthful he should remove away anything filthy on it and eat it and not leave for the devil; and when he finishes (food) he should lick his fingers, for he does not know in what portion of his food Read more ...

The Devil’s Attempt

A man once dreamt of Satan. Satan was holding some frayed ropes and broken chains and he was fuming with anger. In his dream, the man felt curious and asked the devil: "Hey, devil, why are you carrying these things?" The devil answered: "I trap people and drag them along with these ropes and chains." "Why are you looking so furious?" the man wanted to know. "Tonight, I intended to drag Sheikh Ansari towards me and to evil but, I failed. Each time I pulled on the ropes or chains, they snapped. I did this seven times, but the result was just the same. Now I am very disappointed about the Sheikh." In the morning, the man rushed to the Sheikh without Read more ...

Satan’s insignificant objection

Source : http://www.wsatan.com/ While I was reciting: "Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!" The 70 Major Sins forbidden in Islam

The 70 Major Sins forbidden in Islam The major sins (Al Kaba'r) are those acts which have been forbidden by Allah in the Quran and by His Messenger (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) in the Sunnah (practice of the Prophet), and which have been made clear by the actions of of the first righteous generation of Muslims, the Companions of the Prophet (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam). Allah Most High says in His Glorious Book: "If you avoid the major (part) of what you have been forbidden (to do), We will cancel out for you your (other) evil deeds and will admit you (to Paradise) with a noble entry." (Surah Al Nisa' 4:31) Thus by this verse, Allah Most Read more ...
