More than Bad Rulers and Corrupt Societies
In the past few centuries the Muslim world was much more integrated than we realize. It was one social, cultural, religious and economic domain. Its language, system of education, currency, and laws were the same.
When British journalist Robert Fisk said that in the face of disaster Arabs act like mice, he was being polite. He could have said that the Muslims act like mice. The question is why?
It is easy and customary to blame the current Muslim rulers for this sorry situation. No doubt the Iraq invasion would not have been possible without their acquiescence and support. If they refused to open their lands, waterways, and airspace to the invasion, Read more ...
Not Rocket Science: Zionism and the United States Congress
By William James Martin | Source: PalestineChronicle
The ideology, or political project, of Zionism which underlies the creation of the State of Israel had, in fact, a Christian origin rather than a Jewish one, as writings can be found dating from the 1500’s, written by Christian clergymen in England advocating the migration of Jews to the Holy Land.
The migration of Jews to Palestine was also advocated by Napoleon Bonaparte.
The first Jewish presentations of Zionism were written by Moses Hess in 1862 and 20 years later by Leo Pinsker, both of the Russian Pale, with each writer advocated a separate state for Jews.

In Their Shoes: Obama Failed Palestine
Source : PalestineChronicle | By Uri Avnery
Obama in Israel: Every word right. Every gesture genuine. Every detail in its place. Perfect.
Obama in Palestine: Every word wrong. Every gesture inappropriate. Every single detail misplaced. Perfect.
It started from the first moment. The President of the United States came to Ramallah. He visited the Mukata’a, the “compound” which serves as the office of the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas.
One cannot enter the Mukata’a without noticing the grave of Yasser Arafat, just a few paces from the entrance.
It is quite impossible to ignore this landmark while passing it. However, Read more ...
“When Will Our Lands Return to Us?”
A young man enters a gathering in which an elderly scholar is addressing an audience. Clearly agitated, the young man struggles to wait for a pause in the scholar’s speech in order to interject. Finding his moment, the man gets up to say his piece. Voice raised and angry, he asks (without really asking): Mata ta‘udu ilayna afghanistan? - ‘When will Afghanistan be returned to us?’ Mata ta‘udu ilayna al-‘iraq? – ‘When will Iraq return to us?’ Mata ta‘udu ilayna falastin? – ‘When shall Palestine be returned to us?’ Mata, mata, mata!? – ‘When, when, WHEN!?’
The shaykh takes a deep breath and lets out a subdued sigh of Read more ...
DALET : The Conspiracy to Steal the Land of Palestine
Source : Palestinechronicle | By Stuart Littlewood
I have to admit, I was only dimly aware of the Dalet Plan before reading Alan Hart’s latest article 'The green light for Zionism’s ethnic cleansing of Palestine'.
The Dalet Plan, or Plan D, was the Zionist terror mob’s diabolical blueprint for the violent and blood-spattered takeover of the Palestinian homeland – some call it the Palestinian holocaust – written 65 years ago and based on three earlier schemes drafted between 1945 and 1948. It was drawn up by the Jewish underground militia, the Haganah, at the behest of David Ben-Gurion, then boss of the Jewish Agency.
Plan D was a Read more ...
Neither Justice nor Morality: Just Impunity from Crimes against Humanity
Source : PalestineChronicle | Written By : William A. Cook
“The world is ruled by neither justice nor morality; crime is not punished nor virtue rewarded, one is forgotten as quickly as the other. The world is ruled by power and power is obtained with money. To work is senseless, because money cannot be obtained through work, but through exploitation of others. And if we cannot exploit as much as we wish, at least let us work as little as we can. Moral duty? We believe neither in the morality of man nor in the morality of systems.” – Tadeusz Borowski, This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen.

Abbas: “It is time to move forward…”
Source : PalestineChronicle
By Stuart Littlewood
The day before the United Nations vote on Palestine, UK foreign secretary William Hague was explaining his devious policy to Parliament.
“We support a negotiated settlement leading to a safe and secure Israel living alongside a viable and sovereign Palestinian state; based on 1967 borders with agreed land swaps, Jerusalem as the shared capital of both states, and a just, fair and agreed settlement for refugees.
“This is the only way to secure a sustainable end to the conflict…”
It’s always a “safe and secure” Israel and only a “viable” Palestine, never the other way round. A Palestinian Read more ...
True Lies behind Operation Pillar of Defense
Source : PalestineChronicle
By Ershad Abubacker
The first casualty in any war is Truth, and the latest escalation in violence between Israel and Gaza was no different. Israel and the mainstream media fed by it repeated the rhetoric that the rockets fired from Gaza was the pretext for the current crisis and Israel just ‘retaliated’ to the situation as usual. The problem with this narrative is that it takes just the rockets fired from Gaza as the talking point to the exclusion of everything else and alienates the situations around and leading to the rocket fires.
The extra judicial killing of the Hamas commander Ahmed al-Jabari was just a flare Read more ...
“Do children fire rockets??”
The number of Palestinians killed in Gaza during Israel's on-going offensive crossed 100 on Monday, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said. A total of 38 Palestinians were killed Monday. Two more Palestinians were killed in airstrikes past midnight, bringing the death toll since the start of Israel's offensive to 111, including 56 civilians, majority children.
