Importance of Parents
Abdullah ibn Umar, a leading scholar among the Prophet’s (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) companions once saw a man from Yemen carrying his mother on his back and going around the Kaaba in his tawaf. Rather than show any sign of complaint, the man was happy, repeating a line of poetry in which he likened himself to a camel his mother was mounting. Kids listen to our deeds
How many times have you told your kids to change their clothes / brush their teeth / do their homework / or anything else for that matter? There is really no right answer because there is really no limit to the number of times we have to ask our kids to do something.
For most of us, this is a normal part of our daily lives. We ask, and ask, and ask, and if we are lucky, our kids cooperate after the fourth request or after a loud but otherwise harmless scolding. Becoming a parent was an amazing experience. I am blessed with two beautiful baby girls and I pray to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala (Glorified is He) that He raises them as good and pious human.

It’s a classic movie scene, almost cliche: a grown child leaving home as his parents standby watching. The mother, usually weeping, is being consoled by her husband. Today's children think that it was the parents who were losing in these situations. It was while watching the Oprah Winfrey Show many years ago when I realized that times have really changed…This particular show interviewed a mother who had written and published a children's book and dedicated it to her daughter.
