The Islamic Ruling On Wearing Charms, Amulets, & Talismans

The Islamic Ruling On Wearing Charms, Amulets, & Talismans (Ta'weez or Tamimah) The practice of writing Quranic verses, supplications, remembrances or the names of Allah upon pieces of paper or cloth and then placing them upon the body in the form of a necklace, bracelet, pouch or band has not been reported from the Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam), nor from his Companions (radhiAllaahu anhum). Every Muslim knows that the finest Religious example to be followed is the Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) himself. So if the Prophet and his Companions did not use amulets as a means of protection and warding off evil, or as a means of bringing about Read more ...

Soul of a Believer

Al-Baraa' ibn 'Aazib stated that the Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said: "When a believer is leaving this world and entering the next, angels with faces shining brightly like the sun descend from the heavens carrying a shroud and embalming fragrance from Paradise, and [then they] sit down within sight-range. The Angel of Death then approaches, sits by his head and says, 'O good soul, come out to Allah's forgiveness and pleasure.' It will then come out like a flowing drop of water from a water-skin, and he will catch it. But, within the blinking of an eye after he catches it, they will take it and put it in the shroud and fragrance. There will Read more ...

Where is Allah?

WHO IS ALLAH? Allah is the proper name applied to the true God who exists necessarily by Himself comprising all the excellent Divine names and attributes of perfection. Allah is One and Unique. He has no son, no partner, nor equal. He is the sole Creator and Sustainer of the universe. Every creature bears witness to His Oneness, Divinity, and Ruboobiyyah [Ruboobiyyah, inf. of Rubb], and to the uniqueness of His attributes and names. His essence does not resemble the essences. He does not inhere in anything, nor does anything inhere in Him. “There is none like unto Him.” He is the One, the Sole, the Indivisible. He is the Rubb [Some translate the Read more ...

Jinn and the meteors

Among the jinn are those who eavesdrop on the angels in the lowest heaven. The jinn then convey this information to some fortunetellers. 'Abdullah Ibn 'Abbas reported an incident: "A person from the Ansar who was amongst the Companions of Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) reported to me: "As we were sitting during the night with Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam), a meteor shot gave a dazzling light. Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said: "What did you say in the pre-Islamic days when there was such a shot (of meteor)?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best (the actual position), but we, however, used Read more ...

Does Allah come down to the first heaven on the night of fifteenth Sha’baan?

Praise be to Allah.   This is mentioned in some ahaadeeth, but there is some scholarly difference of opinion as to the soundness of those ahaadeeth. There is no saheeh hadeeth concerning the virtue of the night of the fifteenth of Sha'baan.  It was narrated from Abu Moosa al-Ash'ari that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah looks down on the night of the fifteenth of Sha'baan and forgives all his creation except a mushrik or one who harbours hatred against the Muslims.” [Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1390.] The “one who harbours hatred against the Muslims” means one who has enmity towards a Muslim brother. The Dream of the Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam)

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 87, Number 171: [Interpretation of Dreams] Narrated by Samura bin Jundub: Allah's Apostle very often used to ask his companions, “Did anyone of you see a dream?” So dreams would be narrated to him by those whom Allah wished to tell. One morning the Prophet said, “Last night two persons came to me (in a dream) and woke me up and said to me, 'Proceed!' I set out with them and we came across a man Lying down, and behold, another man was standing over his head, holding a big rock. Behold, he was throwing the rock at the man's head, injuring it. The rock rolled away and the thrower followed it and took it back. By Read more ...

The Lofty position of Mothers

The position of my mother remained unknown to me, until I contemplate what my Lord revealed through His prophet – That I worship none but Him and be kind to my parents and say not a word of contempt in the least bit (uff) and obey in all their orders unless it’s something which Allah has forbidden. And address them in honor and abstain from what they forbid and provide them, serve them and raise not voice in front of them nor fix glance upon them or call them by their names. And be patient with them and out of kindness lower to them the wings of humility and say – My Lord! Bestow on them your mercy as they cherished me in childhood. One Read more ...

Are you aware of the day of regret??

Commanding His Prophet in the Quran, Almighty Allah says: "And warn them of the Day of regret, as the Command is decreed, and they are in a state of heedlessness, and they do not believe." (Surah Maryam 19:39) On that day, horrors of unspeakable scale will be seen, no way of escape will be found, and all hopes for salvation will be dashed. That will be the condition of the disbelievers who led their lives in this world in denial and heedlessness of Allah's religion and far removed from His obedience. All sources of trouble and pain in this world pale in comparison to one moment spent in Hell. This can be better imagined when we think of the fact that Hell Read more ...

Currency of Jannah

Every country has its particular financial currency. Indian rupees cannot function in America, where the currency is the dollar, and whoever has more dollars will live that much more comfortably. Likewise, the currency of Saudi Arabia is the riyal, and whoever has more riyals will be that much richer than the one who does not. The currency of the Hereafter is righteous deeds and no other currency will benefit man after his death. There will be no foreign currency exchange where he can change his money for good deeds like we do here when traveling from country to country. The person who has more of this currency of good deeds will be in that much more comfort Read more ...
