All praise is for Allah. We praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness and we repent to Him. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves and the wickedness of our own deeds. Whomever Allah guides, cannot be lead astray, and whomever Allah misguides, none can guide him. I bear witness that there is no god worthy of worship but Allah alone, with no partner or associate. He has blessed His slaves with seasons of mercy and forgiveness, and He has generously bestowed upon them times when they may increase in righteousness and good deeds, times of goodness, bounty and blessings. And I bear witness that our Prophet Muhammad is His Slave and His Messenger, the best one who ever prayed and fasted, the best one who ever prayed Tahajjud and Qiyaam. May Allah send blessings and peace upon him and upon his Family and Companions and those who follow him in truth.
Allah Subhanahu Ta’ala says in the Quran:
“Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying, etc.). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless Favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me.” [Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:152]
And He Subhanahu Ta’ala said:
“And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright.” [Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:186]
And He said:
“O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance.” [Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:41]
And He said:
“And the men and women who remember Allah frequently, Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward.” [Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:35]
And Allah said:
“And remember your Lord by your tongue and within yourself, humbly and with fear without loudness in words in the mornings, and in the afternoons and be not of those who are neglectful.” [Surah Al-A’raf, 7:205]
It is narrated by Abu Musa that the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wassallam said, “The example of the one who celebrates the Praises of his Lord (Allah) in comparison to the one who does not celebrate the Praises of his Lord, is that of a living creature compared to a dead one.” [Sahih Bukhari, Book #75, Hadith #416]
The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu alayhi wassallam related that Allah ordered Yahya Ibn Zakriyyah Alayhis salaam with five commandments; to act upon them and convey them to the children of Isra’il…. [the fifth one being]:
“….and I order you to make mention of Allah often, as this is like a man being pursued at speed by the enemy until he reaches a protected fortress and so protects himself inside it, likewise is the servant, he can only protect himself from Shaytan through remembrance of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.” [Sahih al-Jami, 1724]
Remembering Allah – Supplications (Dua) from the Quran.
“In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) You (Alone) we worship, and you (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything). Guide us to the Straight Way. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).” [Surah Al-Fatihah, 1:1-7]

You make the night to enter into the day, and You make the day to enter into the night (i.e. increase and decrease in the hours of the night and the day during winter and summer), You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give wealth and sustenance to whom You will, without limit (measure or account).” [Surah ‘Ali-‘Imran, 3:26-27]
