The Five tests of today mentioned in the Quran

Allaah Subhanahu ta'ala says in the Quran: "And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient). Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return." They are those on whom are the Salawat (i.e., who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones." [Quran, Surah al-Baqarah, 2:155-157] The Believer is Patient with the Affliction and thus gains a Reward Allaah informs us that He tests and tries His servants, just as Read more ...

The Means for a Dua to be Answered

By Shaykh Muhammad bin Hadi Al-Madkhali The Question: What are the means for a Dua to be answered? What should a Muslim do if trials and tribulations become severe? The Answer: As for the means for Dua to be answered then they are many, however, the most important of them is to make sure his food / provision is Halal, like the Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said: "Make your food Halal so that your Dua is answered." And the Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) mentioned: "A man who, having journeyed far, is disheveled and dusty and who spreads out his hands to the sky [saying]: 'O my Lord! O my Lord!' - while his food is unlawful, his Read more ...

The Tyranny of the Rulers is Not a Reason for Rebellion

The goal of the Jihadist sects is one and the same: rebellion against those in authority and a desire to rule over the Muslim lands. They may alter their names and titles but their ideology remains the same. Islam itself, despite what these sects assert, forbids open censure and rebellion against even the most wicked and tyrannical of Muslim rulers. The Prophet of Allaah (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam), upon whose statements and actions we establish our religion, stated in an authentic tradition: “There will appear after me rulers, they will not guide by my guidance, and they will not establish my Sunnah; there will be amongst them men whose hearts will Read more ...

No real advancement for the Muslims without a Return to their Religion

Saudi King Abdul Azeez (rahimahullaah) said: "O Muslims! It is obligatory that we hold onto the Rope of Allaah (i.e. the Qur'aan), follow the Sunnah of Allaah's Messenger Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam), follow the guidance of the Messenger, act on Allaah's orders and keep away from what Allaah has forbidden. Indeed, every speech that is not followed by action is false. There can be no rectification for the Muslims except through their unity upon singling out their Lord in [His Lordship, Names and Attributes and worshipping Him alone and associate none to Him as a partner in Worship]. [And in the event of] every differing that leads to splitting Read more ...

When will come the Help of Allah?

Trials. At times they are overwhelming. As soon as we get through one, another one seems to simply be waiting for us. Time and time again they pull us backward, and sometimes they slam us flat on our faces not even allowing time for our hands to flail as we fall. They seem never ending, and sometimes it’s just hard to even comprehend why we are going through such things. At the end of the day, we are left in a daze, asking the only question that seems fit: ‘When will this all be over?’ And then we sit, waiting for the answer, hoping that it will come soon. In the Book of Guidance, which is unlike any other book, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala (exalted Read more ...

The Signs of Bliss & Misery

"One with whom was knowledge of the Scripture said: "I will bring it to you within the twinkling of an eye!" then when [Sulaiman (Solomon)] saw it placed before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And whoever is grateful, truly, his gratitude is for (the good of) his ownself, and whoever is ungrateful, (he is ungrateful only for the loss of his ownself). Certainly! My Lord is Rich (Free of all wants), Bountiful."" [Quran, Surah al-Naml, 27:40] "As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and gifts, then he says (puffed up): "My Lord has honoured me." But when He tries him, by straitening Read more ...
