The Beauties of Islam

Undoubtedly, Islam is the most perfect religion, the most conformable to pure nature and sound reason. This is due to the characteristics, beauties, merits and benefits it comprises of that have never been found in any other religion before. "This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion." [Surah Al-Ma'idah, 5:3] Islam is the only religion capable of meeting the needs of both the soul and the body simultaneously. It does not view man as a gear in a machine as does communism, nor does it suppress man's natural needs and bar him from all his desires, as is the case with Read more ...

War Begets War: It’s Not about Islam; It Never Was

By Ramzy Baroud | Source: Palestine Chronicle It is still not about Islam, even if the media and militants attacking western targets say so. Actually, it never was. But it was important for many to conflate politics with religion; partly because it is convenient and self-validating. First, let’s be clear on some points. Islam has set in motion a system to abolish slavery over 1,200 years before the slave trade reached its peak in the western world. Freeing the slaves, who were owned by pagan Arab tribes, was a recurring theme in the Koran (Quran), always linked to the most basic signs of piety and virtue: “The charities are to go to the poor, Read more ...

A Historical analysis of date of Birth and Death of Prophet Muhammad (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) In the name of Allah, indeed all praise is due to Allah and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. Allah says in the Quran: "Muhammad (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) is no more than a Messenger, and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as disbelievers)? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah, and Allah will give reward to those who are grateful." Inspiration: Islam and Racism

Episode-12 (final episode - Season 1) from the amazing Inspiration Series by Mohamed Zeyara. Islam does not pay attention to differences in colour, race or lineage. All people come from Adam, and Adam was created from dust. In Islam, differentiation between people is based on faith (eemaan) and piety (taqwaa), by doing that which Allah has enjoined and avoiding that which Allah has prohibited. Allah says in the Quran:  "O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allaah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. he is one of Read more ...

The Story of the Boy and the King from Surah al-Buruj

The Story of the Boy and the King - from Surah al-Buruj: Tafsir Ibn Kathir Imam Ahmad recorded from Suhayb that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said: Among the people who came before you, there was a king who had a sorcerer, and when that sorcerer became old, he said to the king, “I have become old and my time is nearly over, so please send me a boy whom I can teach magic.” So, he sent him a boy and the sorcerer taught him magic. Whenever the boy went to the sorcerer, he sat with a monk who was on the way and listened to his speech and admired them. So, when he went to the sorcerer, he passed by the monk and sat there with him; Read more ...

Defending the Religion & Uniting the Ranks upon the Truth

Defending the Religion Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal (d.21H)- rahimahullaah – said: “All praise is for Allah who, in every age and intervals between the Prophets, raises up a group from the People of Knowledge, who call the misguided to guidance, patiently bearing ill treatment and harm. With the Book of Allah they give life to the dead, and by Allah's Light they give sight to the blind. How many a person killed by Iblees (the Devil) have they revived. How many people astray and wandering have they guided. How beautiful their effect has been upon the people, and how vile people have been towards them. They expel from the Book of Allah the alterations of Read more ...

Does Allah come down to the first heaven on the night of fifteenth Sha’baan?

Praise be to Allah.   This is mentioned in some ahaadeeth, but there is some scholarly difference of opinion as to the soundness of those ahaadeeth. There is no saheeh hadeeth concerning the virtue of the night of the fifteenth of Sha'baan.  It was narrated from Abu Moosa al-Ash'ari that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah looks down on the night of the fifteenth of Sha'baan and forgives all his creation except a mushrik or one who harbours hatred against the Muslims.” [Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1390.] The “one who harbours hatred against the Muslims” means one who has enmity towards a Muslim brother. Shab-e-barat: Bid’ah of Sha’baan

Praise be to Allah. Some Muslims celebrate the middle of Sha'baan, fasting on that day and spending that night in prayer (qiyaam). There is a hadeeth concerning that which is not saheeh, hence the scholars regarded celebrating this day as an innovation (bid'ah). Muhammad 'Abd al-Salaam al-Shuqayri said: Imam al-Fatni said in Tadhkirat al-Mawdoo'aat: "Among the innovations that have been introduced on “Laylat an-Nusf” (mid-Sha'baan) is al-Salaat al-Alfiyyah, which is one hundred rak'ahs in which Soorat al-Ikhlaas is recited ten times in each rak'ah, offered in congregation; they pay more attention to this than to Jumu'ah and Eid prayers, although there Read more ...
