Love during the Time of Quraysh

Love is a powerful theme that features throughout history, with the power to launch a thousand ships or destroy a country. Zainab bint Muhammad (radhiAllahu anha) is an example of the strength of love and a Muslim woman's patience and courage. Although her story does not feature as prominently in Islamic history as some other Sahabiyaat such as her mother, Khadijah, or her step-mother Aishah, she experienced one of the most difficult struggles faced by Muslim women: the battle between true love and spiritual conviction. Zainab bint RasulAllah (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) was the eldest daughter of RasulAllah (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) and his Read more ...

My little Princesses, you bring to me a heart of Joy

My two little princesses would be back home, insha’Allah around tomorrow. Clearly, you both bring to me a heart of joy and provide great memories and a powerful sense of fatherhood. I cannot wait to be “tied around their little arms”,… entwined I’ve always been. I am again going to enjoy going on outings with them, show them stuffs like pictures and toys, eating meals together, or read stories to them. Basically sharing various activities that we would enjoy together. Their laughing and smiling and reacting with me, and seeing them as such is an amazing feeling, even if one has to act silly for it, or tease them lovingly... oh my darlings!! I Read more ...

My angel would be in my arms!

Those moments when the rest of the world disappears and you’re the parent of the most adorable child on the planet? Few things in life can touch those times, and they are much more than just feel-good moments. All that cooing, copying of your baby’s facial expressions and mimicking her sounds lets her know that she is deeply treasured and understood. These interactions are coming back to me after a month’s time… my Angel would be in my arms tomorrow morning.. Insha'Allah!! She has made everything in the Read more ...

Love my mother, love my mother, love my mother, love my father…

Narrated by Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me?" The Prophet said, "your mother." The man said. "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "your mother." The man further said, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "your mother." The man asked for the fourth time, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "your father. " (Sahih Bukhari, Book #73, Hadith #2) I never truly grasped the meaning of this hadith until I attained parenthood. The position that Allah has given to a mother and a father is immence. Kindness to one’s mother is three times more important than to one’s Read more ...

The miracle is right here…

The miracle is right here... I have witnessed the birth of my daughter Zainab and it’s truly a miracle of Allah. A bounty and favor that Allah has bestowed upon me and my family. I remember when we used to discuss that she was  2 cm long, then a handspan then 2 handspans and now she’s a healthy being staring at the world with exploratory eyes. I thank Allah for His Mercy to me and my family. This also reminds me to be thankful for all the other “little things,” that I take for granted everyday. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised us, the best way to stay thankful to Allah is to count His favours in our lives everyday, for Read more ...
