Thank Allah, and watch as He increases you

Something amazing happened to me on Tuesday. I had been making du'a (supplication) for a very long time for something in particular. Then, out of the blue, along came this opportunity that was seemingly the answer to my prayer. If we choose to seek the Countenance of Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala (exalted is He) above all else, invoke His Mercy and without a doubt He will shower His blessings upon us infinitely and Aid us where we struggle. I thanked Allah for the blessing He had bestowed upon me one after the other... in so many ways. “’If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor],’” [Quran, Surah Ibrahim, 14:7] Allah subhanahu Read more ...

A Great Bounty and Blessings…

One of life’s greatest miracles and gifts bestowed upon us is the blessing of life itself, especially when the life is in the form of a small bundle of joy who welcomes her new surroundings with a beautiful cry that calms the hearts of her parents. Recently, my beloved wife was granted the blessing of delivering a healthy baby girl (27-Oct-2011), Masha’Allah. We have named her Anam, which means blessings. She is our second daughter, Alhumdolillah! A daughter is a great bounty and an honour granted by Allah. I thank Allah for His Mercy to me and my family. May my daughters reach maturity and right-guidance, and may Allah (SWT) make them a blessing Read more ...

Being Thankful to Allah

From the very beginning of Man’s creation, the issue of gratefulness and thankfulness to Allah has been debated. After refusing to bow to Adam, Satan said, “"Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: Nor wilt Thou (Allah) find, in most of them, gratitude (for thy mercies)."” [Surah Al A'raf 7:17] This statement from the worst of liars has proven to be true, not only among the disbelievers, but also among the Muslims. Unfortunately, we Muslims have fallen into the trap of Satan, and have gotten so caught up in our comings and goings, that we very rarely take the time to reflect on the favours of Allah, Read more ...

The miracle is right here…

The miracle is right here... I have witnessed the birth of my daughter Zainab and it’s truly a miracle of Allah. A bounty and favor that Allah has bestowed upon me and my family. I remember when we used to discuss that she was  2 cm long, then a handspan then 2 handspans and now she’s a healthy being staring at the world with exploratory eyes. I thank Allah for His Mercy to me and my family. This also reminds me to be thankful for all the other “little things,” that I take for granted everyday. As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised us, the best way to stay thankful to Allah is to count His favours in our lives everyday, for Read more ...

From the very beginning of Man’s creation, the issue of gratefulness and thankfulness to Allah has been debated. After refusing to bow to Adam, Satan said, “Then I will certainly come to them from before them and from behind them, and from the right-hand side and from the left-hand side, and Thou (Allah) shall not find most of them thankful.” [Surah Al A'raf 7:17] This statement from the worst of liars has proven to be true, not only among the disbelievers, but also among the Muslims. The Story of a Man and His Damp Bed

The Story of a Man and His Damp Bed by: Sis Zabrina I was with my group of friends at a coffee place, happily chatting, when suddenly one of them developed an excruciating pain in her tummy. The pain was so intense for my friend that we had to bring her to the nearest clinic immediately. She was limping, her hands pressed against her abdomen and she was shedding some tears. We tried to hold her steady while she made her way to the doctor’s office. It turns out that she had not been taking care of her food intake and had developed gastritis. Alhamdulillaah, after a few spoons of medication, she got better and we sent her home. As I drove back, I Read more ...

Picture Perfect : Remember Allah at all times

“Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction”. (Holy Quran, Surah Al-Rad 13:28) The one whose heart and mind are occupied with remembering Allah through various sincere acts of devotion and worship is moving closer and closer to the truth - the truth in this case means a greater and deeper understanding of ourselves and our relationship with Allah. Allah occupies the hearts of the believers day and night, morning and evening, during prosperity and adversity, during war and peace. He is He. We worship and remember Him during all times, Read more ...

I am not crying because…

A man reached 70 years of age and he faced a disease; he could not urinate. The doctors informed him that he was in need of an operation to cure this disease. He agreed to have the operation done as the problem was giving him much pain for days. When the operation was completed, his doctor gave him the bill which covered all the costs. The old man looked at the bill and started to cry. Upon seeing this the doctor told him that if the cost was too high then they could make some other arrangements. The old man said “I am not crying because of the money but I am crying because Allah let me urinate for 70 years and He never sent me a bill.” “…and Read more ...
