To wear a Ring, Twine, or anything similar to them for prevention or lifting of Harm or Affliction, is an act of Shirk Allaah the Almighty said: "Say: Tell me then, the things that you invoke besides Allaah, -if Allaah intended some harm for me, could they remove His harm, or if He (Allaah) intended some mercy for me, could they withhold His Mercy? Ramadan : Recite, Learn & Teach the Quran

Abu Umama said he heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) say: "Recite the Quran, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It. Recite the two bright ones, al-Baqarah and Surah Ali 'Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Surah al-Baqara, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it. (Mu'awiya said: It has been conveyed to me that here Batala means magicians.)" [Sahih Muslim, Book #004, Hadith #1757] The Prophet Read more ...

In Love with the Word

In Love with the Word It never ceases to intrigue us when we actually meet a hafiz. Someone who has committed the entire Quran to memory, word for word. "But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?" (Surah Al Qamar 54:22) One of the miracles of the Quran, is the ease with which it is memorised by young and old. In the month of Ramadan, the Jibreel (AS) would visit the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) every night to rehearse the Quran with him. During the last Ramadan the whole Quran was rehearsed twice. The oral tradition has always been the primary Read more ...

The Quran : Allah will assuredly guard it (from corruption)

Recording  and Preservation of the Quran The very first word revealed to Muhammad (pbuh) was 'iqra' meaning read or recite (Surah Al 'Alaq 96:1). Thus it is not surprising that as soon as a verse was revealed, prophet Muhammad (pbuh) would memorize it so that he could recite it to others, and the very next Surah that was revealed was Surah Al Qalam 68 Ayah (1-2), which emphasised the use of pen, thus not only that the revealed verses were memorized, they were also put in writing. "Nun. By the Pen and by the (Record) which (men) write." (Surah Al Qalam 68:1) "Thou art not by the grace of thy Lord mad or possessed." (Surah Al Qalam 68:2) Among the Read more ...

Why We Read The Quran Even If We Don’t Understand It

Why Do We Read the Quran Even though We Don’t Understand A Single Arabic Word? An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Quran. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could. One day the grandson asked, “Grandpa! I try to read the Quran just like you but I don’t understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Quran do?” The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, “Take this coal basket Read more ...
