The Oneness of Allah

In a day and age when nothing seems acceptable without proof, we find many aspects of our religion are based on complete faith. We are required to believe in many things with or without proof. From amongst these things, is the belief that Allah exists and that He is the creator of this world and that He has no partner in His being or any of his infinite qualities. Who ALLAH is?

One of the central aspects of Islam is Tawheed, the belief in Divine Unity, or the Oneness of God. In answer to the question as to who God is, Allah revealed Surah Al-Ikhlas (The Purity Of Faith). In answer to who Allah is, Allah says: "Say! He is God, the One! The Eternally Besought of all! He does not beget, nor is He begotten. And there is nothing comparable to Him."
