Ramadan : Obligation of Zakatul-Fitr (Sadaqatul-Fitr)

Obligation of Zakatul-Fitr (Sadaqatul-Fitr) Ibn Umar (radhiAllaahu anhu) narrated: "Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) made obligatory the payment of one Sa' (approx 2.6 Kg) of dates or one Sa' of barley as zakatul-fitr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old; and he ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer 'Eid prayer." [Bukhari, 1503] Ibn Umar (radhiAllaahu anhu) said: "The Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) made obligatory on every male or female, free man or slave, the payment of one Sa' of dates or barley as sadaqatul-fitr." Hajj, an Obligation

Allah (Subhanahu Ta’ala) says in the Quran: "O mankind! Fear your Lord and be dutiful to Him! Verily, the earthquake of the Hour (of Judgement) is a terrible thing. The Day you shall see it, every nursing mother will forget her nursling, and every pregnant one will drop her load, and you shall see mankind as in a drunken state, yet they will not be drunken, but severe will be the Torment of Allah. All praises belong to Allah the Owner of virtue and grace. He has prescribed the fast to purify the souls from sin.
