There is no honour except by Islam

The Leader of the Believers, Umar bin Al-Khattaab (May Allah be pleased with him) said: "We are a nation whom Allah has honoured by Islam. Whenever we seek honour through other than it, Allah will humiliate us. There is no honour except by Islam, and there is no affiliation except to Islam." Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "My father is Islam, I have no father other than it, When they pride themselves with Qais or Tameem" Thus, to affiliate to and seek honour through other than Islam is from the acts of ignorance. When the Prophet (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) heard some of the people saying, ‘we are with the Ansaar’ and others Read more ...

When the fast of Ramadan became an obligation upon the Ummah

All praises belong to Allah the Owner of virtue and grace. He has prescribed the fast to purify the souls from sin. May the peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad the best of those who prayed and fasted; he remained steadfast upon good and uprightness; may the peace and blessings be upon his family and his companions and those who continue to follow him. As to what follows: Allah (Subhanahu Ta'ala) said: "O you who believe fasting has been prescribed for you as it has been prescribed for those who can before you in order for you to obtain piety." [Quran 2:183] Therefore Allah has mentioned in these noble verses that he has prescribed Read more ...

More than Bad Rulers and Corrupt Societies

In the past few centuries the Muslim world was much more integrated than we realize. It was one social, cultural, religious and economic domain. Its language, system of education, currency, and laws were the same. When British journalist Robert Fisk said that in the face of disaster Arabs act like mice, he was being polite. He could have said that the Muslims act like mice. The question is why? It is easy and customary to blame the current Muslim rulers for this sorry situation. No doubt the Iraq invasion would not have been possible without their acquiescence and support. If they refused to open their lands, waterways, and airspace to the invasion, Read more ...

And my Companions are peace (amanah) for my Nation: when my Companions leave, what has been promised to my Nation will come to it (i.e., the appearance of innovations, Read more ...

Universal Reality

In the Quran, Allah says: "We have sent you (Muhammad) as a mercy for all nations." [Surah Al Anbiya 21:107] Thus Islam is not restricted to any particular race or nation, as many other religions are, but is universal, meaning that its message applies to all humanity, at all times, in all places. Since Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was the last prophet and messenger, his message applies to all future generations. All previous prophets, from Adam, Noah and Abraham to Moses and Jesus, were also Muslims: "Not a single messenger did We send before you without this inspiration sent by Us to him - that there is no god but I, therefore worship and serve Me." [Surah Read more ...
