A Historical analysis of date of birth & death of Prophet Muhammad

A Historical analysis of date of Birth and Death of Prophet Muhammad (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) In the name of Allah, indeed all praise is due to Allah and may peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. Allah says in the Quran: "Muhammad (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) is no more than a Messenger, and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as disbelievers)? And he who turns back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah, and Allah will give reward to those who are grateful." [Quran 3:144] The Prophet (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) informed us that Read more ...

Defending the Religion & Uniting the Ranks upon the Truth

Defending the Religion Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal (d.21H)- rahimahullaah – said: “All praise is for Allah who, in every age and intervals between the Prophets, raises up a group from the People of Knowledge, who call the misguided to guidance, patiently bearing ill treatment and harm. With the Book of Allah they give life to the dead, and by Allah's Light they give sight to the blind. How many a person killed by Iblees (the Devil) have they revived. How many people astray and wandering have they guided. How beautiful their effect has been upon the people, and how vile people have been towards them. They expel from the Book of Allah the alterations of Read more ...

Does Allah come down to the first heaven on the night of fifteenth Sha’baan?

Praise be to Allah.   This is mentioned in some ahaadeeth, but there is some scholarly difference of opinion as to the soundness of those ahaadeeth. There is no saheeh hadeeth concerning the virtue of the night of the fifteenth of Sha'baan.  It was narrated from Abu Moosa al-Ash'ari that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah looks down on the night of the fifteenth of Sha'baan and forgives all his creation except a mushrik or one who harbours hatred against the Muslims.” [Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1390.] The “one who harbours hatred against the Muslims” means one who has enmity towards a Muslim brother. Shab-e-barat: Bid’ah of Sha’baan

Praise be to Allah. Some Muslims celebrate the middle of Sha'baan, fasting on that day and spending that night in prayer (qiyaam). There is a hadeeth concerning that which is not saheeh, hence the scholars regarded celebrating this day as an innovation (bid'ah). Muhammad 'Abd al-Salaam al-Shuqayri said: Imam al-Fatni said in Tadhkirat al-Mawdoo'aat: "Among the innovations that have been introduced on “Laylat an-Nusf” (mid-Sha'baan) is al-Salaat al-Alfiyyah, which is one hundred rak'ahs in which Soorat al-Ikhlaas is recited ten times in each rak'ah, offered in congregation; they pay more attention to this than to Jumu'ah and Eid prayers, although there Read more ...

The Etiquette of Visiting Graves in Islam

Praise be to Allah. Visiting graves to pray to their occupants or seek their help or ask them to intercede – this is a reprehensible action, and indeed it is major shirk. It is not permissible to build mosques or domes etc over graves, because the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “May Allah curse the Jews and Christians, for they took the graves of their Prophets as places of worship.” (Sahih – agreed upon). And because it was narrated from Jaabir (may Allah be pleased with him) in al-Sahih that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade plastering over graves, sitting on them and erecting structures Read more ...

The Lie of Santa Claus

Al-hamdulillah, All praise be to Allah alone, for making us Muslims and bestowing us the Deen of Islam to distinguish right and wrong. The holiday season is upon us again, and the ugly head of Satan is rising again to inspire people to indulge in innovation and shirk. Christians Lying About Santa Claus Sheikh Yusuf Estes deals out a few home truths about Christians, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Bible. As Yusuf Estes mentioned the bigger lie is that of associating partners with God. The word 'Christmas' is not even present in the entire Bible. The Bible has closed lips on the entire feast of Christmas with one exception, the decoration Read more ...

Foundationless Religious Practices are Forbidden

Allah said: "Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al-Maitah (the dead animals - cattle - beast not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which Allah's Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering, (that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah, or has been slaughtered for idols) and that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of horns - and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild animal - unless you are able to slaughter it (before its death) - and that which is sacrificed (slaughtered) on An-Nusub (stone-altars). (Forbidden) also is to use arrows seeking Read more ...

He Came with Something Strange

Allah, Glorious is He, sent His Messenger (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) at a time when the whole world was steeped in the depths of ignorance; knowledge of the truth had been lost and nowhere was it being established and lived by as was deserving. People would unduly adopt the practices they found their forefathers upon, practices that their predecessors had themselves invented and regarded to be commendable: matters that were no more than superstition, concocted belief and innovation. When he (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) stood amongst them, “...a bringer of good tidings and a warner, and a caller to Allah by His permission and a light giving Read more ...

Celebrating Prophet’s Birthday is Bid’ah

Celebrating Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) Birthday is Bid'ah Praise be to Allah. There is nothing in the Quran to say that we should celebrate the Mawlid or birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet himself (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not do this or command anyone to do it, either during his lifetime or after his death. Indeed, he told them not to exaggerate about him as the Christians had exaggerated about Jesus (upon whom be peace). He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Do not exaggerate about me as the Christians exaggerated about the son of Maryam. Read more ...
