Allah endues with honor whom He wills

Say (O Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam)): "O Allah! Possessor of the kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will, and You take the kingdom from whom You will, and You endue with honor whom You will, and You humiliate whom You will. In Your Hand is the good. Verily, You are Able to do all things." [Surah 'Ali 'Imran, 3:26] Ibn Kathir explains this Ayah as one that encourages thanking Allah for the favours He has bestowed. Allah granted Prophethood to Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam), transferring it from the Children of Israel to the Arab, unlettered Prophet, the Final and Last of all Prophets and the Messenger of Allah to all mankind and Read more ...

There is no honour except by Islam

The Leader of the Believers, Umar bin Al-Khattaab (May Allah be pleased with him) said: "We are a nation whom Allah has honoured by Islam. Whenever we seek honour through other than it, Allah will humiliate us. There is no honour except by Islam, and there is no affiliation except to Islam." Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "My father is Islam, I have no father other than it, When they pride themselves with Qais or Tameem" Thus, to affiliate to and seek honour through other than Islam is from the acts of ignorance. When the Prophet (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) heard some of the people saying, ‘we are with the Ansaar’ and others Read more ...

Inspiration: Islam and Racism

Episode-12 (final episode - Season 1) from the amazing Inspiration Series by Mohamed Zeyara. Islam does not pay attention to differences in colour, race or lineage. All people come from Adam, and Adam was created from dust. In Islam, differentiation between people is based on faith (eemaan) and piety (taqwaa), by doing that which Allah has enjoined and avoiding that which Allah has prohibited. Allah says in the Quran:  "O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allaah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. he is one of Read more ...

Inspiration: Mercy to the world

Episode-11 from the amazing Inspiration Series by Mohamed Zeyara. Allah says in the Quran: "And by the Mercy of Allah, you dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about you; so pass over (their faults), and ask (Allah's) Forgiveness for them; and consult them in the affairs. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him)." [Quran, 3:159] The Prophet commanded that no animal be tortured or over-burdened, while assuring that no active kindness towards them will go unrewarded in the hereafter. Abu Huraira reported Allah's Read more ...

Inspiration: Do Not Belittle One Another

Allah says in the Quran:

“Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. one of the Muttaqun (pious).” [Quran, 49:13]

Inspiration: Be counted amongst the Truthful

Episode-7 from the amazing Inspiration Series by Mohamed Zeyara. "O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds)." [Quran, 9:119] Narrated by 'Abdullah ibn Masood that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And a man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a truthful person. Falsehood leads to Al-Fajur (i.e. wickedness, evil-doing), and Al-Fajur (wickedness) leads to the (Hell) Fire, and a man may keep on telling lies till he is written before Allah, a liar." [Sahih Bukhari, Book #73, Hadith #116] Read more ...

You must treat your Womenfolk well

My grandfather used to mention an old idiom which says, “When one neglects his she-goat, she brings home a male-goat,” which means that when a woman does not get her emotional needs fulfilled, she responds willingly to someone else who charms her. The point of this idiom is not to liken the man and the woman to a male and female goat – Allah’s refuge is sought! – since a woman is a man’s companion. If Allah has blessed the man with a strong body, He has also blessed the woman with strong emotions. How often do we see brave men and even leaders crumble in front of the emotional prowess of a woman? To deal skilfully with women one should Read more ...

Khutbah : And the Winner Is? By Muhammad Alshareef The Transcript: Part I During his Caliphate, ‘Umar (RA), may Allah be pleased with him, once set out for ash-Sham (Damascus) and with him was Abu ‘Ubaydah. They came upon a deep creek which they needed to cross. So ‘Umar took off his sandals and carried them on his shoulders. Then he took the reign of the camel and began ploughing through the water. Abu ‘Ubaydah – seeing the Khalifah (Leader) of the Muslims in this state – felt saddened and said, “I fear that the people of the village will think you without any honour.” ‘Umar said, “Oh Abu ‘Ubaydah, if only someone less Read more ...
