Imam al-Barbahari, may Allaah have mercy upon him said; "Examine! May Allaah have mercy upon you, the speech of every person that you hear, practically in your day and age. Do not act in haste and do not enter into anything from it until you ask and see – Did any of the companions of the Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) speak concerning it or any of the scholars? Saudi King Abdul Azeez (rahimahullaah) said: "O Muslims! It is obligatory that we hold onto the Rope of Allaah (i.e. the Qur'aan), follow the Sunnah of Allaah's Messenger Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam), follow the guidance of the Messenger, act on Allaah's orders and keep away from what Allaah has forbidden. Imam al-Barbahari (rahimaullah, died 329 AH) stated: "Know that Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said: "My ummah will divide into 73 sects, all of them will be in the Fire except for one, and that is the Jama'ah."
