A very detailed explanation of the hadeeth of intention from the tremendous work of Ibn Rajab. Below are translated excerpts from the beautiful work by Imaam Ibn Rajab al-Hanbalee (rahmatullah) entitled 'Jaami Al-Uloom wal Hikm' in which he has a detailed commentary on 50 ahaadeeth of the Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam). The Excellence of the Remembrance of Allah

Allah, the Exalted, says: "And the remembering (praising) of (you by) Allah (in front of the angels) is greater indeed [than your remembering (praising) of Allah in prayers]'' [Quran, 29:45] "Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). "O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty?- That ye believe in God and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of God, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity: that is indeed the Supreme Achievement.
