Reliance on Allah
Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:
“And the one who relies on God, God will suffice him.” (Al Talaq, 65:3)
“And upon God let the believers rely.” (Al ‘Imran, 3:122)
“So rely on God, indeed God loves those who rely [on him].” (Al ‘Imran, 3:159)
The Messenger of God, may blessings and peace be upon him, has said:
“Were you to rely on God as He rightly should be relied on, He would provide for you as He provide for the birds which go off hungry in the morning and return full in the evening.”
“I was shown all the communities at the gathering place of the Hajj. I say that my community had filled the plain and the mountain. Their number and appearance pleased me. I was asked, ‘Are you content?’ I said, ‘yes.’ Together with them will be seventy thousand who will enter Paradise without reckoning. They never had themselves tattooed nor sought omens in birds nor uttered spells; they trusted in God.”
“One day Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) noticed a Bedouin leaving his camel without tying it and he asked the Bedouin, ‘Why don’t you tie down your camel?’ The Bedouin answered, ‘I put my trust in Allah.’ The Prophet then said, ‘Tie your camel first, then put your trust in Allah.’” (At-Tirmidhi)
