At the time when the Prophet (SAWS) was proclaiming Islam in Makkah, a woman was fleeing from Makkah on a horse. She came across the Messenger of Allah (SAWS) without recognising who he was.
The Messenger of Allah (SAWS) seeing her carrying her belongings and luggage offered to assist her. He (SAWS) did not mention who he was.
Rasoolullah (SAWS) asked the lady where she was going. The woman replied, ‘I am running away from a mad man in Makkah called Muhammad who talks of a strange new religion called Islam. It is from him that I flee from.’
The Prophet (SAWS) kept quiet. Instead he helped carry the woman’s possessions walking next to her as she rode her horse.
When the woman got to her destination she asked the Prophet (SAWS), ‘You have helped me so much. At least tell me who you are?’ Rasoolullah (SAWS) replied, ‘I am the man you are fleeing from!’
Seeing the manners and akhlaaq of our beloved Prophet (SAWS) the woman at once proclaimed the Shahadah and became Muslim.
