“By the Fig and the Olive…” : Japanese Research Team President Embrace Islam

A Scientific Miracle of the Holy Quran

Dr. Taha Ibrahim Khalifa, former dean and Professor of medicinal plants and drugs at Al-Azhar University and tells the following article about a Quran miracle.

Metallothionein (MT) : A material which is produced by humans and animals brains in small quantities. This material is a protein that contains Sulfur which can easily bind with zinc, iron and phosphorus. This substance is considered very vital to the human body in the sense of reducing cholesterol, performing metabolism, strengthening the heart, and controlling breath.

MT production increases gradually between the ages of 15 to 35 years. Then, the production level decrease till it stops at the age of sixty. That is why it was not easy to obtain MT from humans. Also, small amount of MT was found in animals.

FigTherefore, scientists kept searching for MT in plants. A team of Japanese scientists searched for this magical substance that works as a removal of the symptoms of aging. The team found subject substance only in two types of plants; fig and olive.

The sincerity of Allah Almighty says in his holy book:

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

“By the Fig and the Olive, And the Mount of Sinai, And this City of security,- We have indeed created man in the best of moulds, Then do We abase him (to be) the lowest of the low,- ” (Surah Al Tin 95:1-5)

Let’s just think for a moment in the oath of God Almighty in fig and olive. Then, let’s try to link it directly to the creation of human beings in the best manner and then abasing them to the lowest of the low.

After MT was deduce from figs and olives, scientists found that the use of MT from fig or olive alone did not give the expected benefit for the human health. The benefits were only seen when MT that is extracted from fig was mixed with MT that is extracted from olive. After noticing that, the Japanese team tried to find the best mix ratio between fig and olive that provides the best influence.

The best mix ratio was found to be 1 fig to 7 olives!

OliveDr. Taha Ibrahim Khalifa has searched the Holy Quran and found that fig was mentioned once while olive was mentioned six times explicitly and one time implicitly in Al Mu’minun chapter:

“Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food.” (Surah Al Mu’minun 23:20)

Dr. Taha has sent all the information that he gathered from the Holy Quran to the Japanese research team. After verifying that the discovered information were mentioned in the Holy Quran 1427 years ago, the President of the Japanese research team declared his Islam and the research team surrendered the patent to Dr. Taha Ibrahim Khalifa.

“It is He who sends down rain from the sky: from it ye drink, and out of it (grows) the vegetation on which ye feed your cattle. With it He produces for you corn, olives, date-palms, grapes and every kind of fruit: verily in this is a sign for those who give thought.” (Surah Al Nahl 16:10-11)

  2. I’m a nutritionist researcher, and concern by Allah swear with fig and olive ,
Please sent me the scientific paper or published paper , or any data related to the japanese team ( their name, or work place).
by the way, my Ph.D. related to fig and olive, and I collect them from “Tur Sanai”.

  3. Dear brother Navedz,
As medical doctor I am well aware of anti-oxidation effect of Olive oil, and also well aware about Melatonin as it was once a cover story of Times magazine.
However this post really enlighten me another miracle of the Holy Quran, which profess that is Allah’s words.
By the way, a few weeks ago scientists found out that human appendix is not a remnant of the gut without specific function as Darwin’s followers claimed. It is a very important place to grow the good bacteria to maintain the healthy bacteria flora in intestine.
Allah create appendix in our body to serve its function.
    Allah knows the best,

  5. Assalam alaikum wr wb
thanks for your article I searched for the scientific article
about metallothionin and for this japanese research group but I couldn’t find their
    name or the original paper,
if anyone knows it please tell us!!!
    Thanks

  6. Metallothionein-3 is brain-specific metallothionein expressed mainly in the hippocampus, amygdala and cortex [4]. Metallothionein-3 mRNA has been detected in zinc-enriched neurons [4] and in astrocytes [5]. In contrast to other metallothioneins, metallothionein-3 inhibits the growth of cultured neurons and has been therefore denoted as a growth inhibitory factor (GIF) [6]. However, further studies have demonstrated that the growth-inhibitory activity of metallothionein-3 is related to specific hydroxyl radical scavenging properties of metallothionein-3 [7]. Metallothionein-3 knockout mice are more sensitive to kainate-induced epileptic seizures, compatible with a role of metallothionein-3 in regulation of zinc during neural stimulation of glutamate-ergic zinc-enriched neurons [8]. The metallothionein-3 gene is differently regulated than that of metallothionein-1 and metallothionein-2 and its transcription is not metal-induced [9]. Metallothionein-3 mRNA and protein levels are up-regulated after brain injury [10] and down-regulated in Alzheimer’s disease [11,6,12], suggesting that metallothioneins may be associated with brain repair [10,13] and that its down-regulation may be associated with the neuropathology of Alzheimer’s disease [11,6,12].

    Received: 20 December 1997 Accepted: 31 January 1998
Abstract Samples of liver, renal cortex, and medulla were obtained from 55 forensic autopsies (0- to 95-yr-old Japanese). Metallothionein (MT) was determined by the Ag-hem or Cd-hem method. Zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), and cadmium (Cd) were determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The mean levels of MT were 250 ?g/g in the liver, and 394 ?g/g (cortex) and 191 ?g/g (medulla) in the kidney. Age-dependent changes were observed in both the liver and kidney. In the liver, MT level decreased during infancy and increased thereafter with age. Similar age-dependent changes in the levels of Zn and Cu were observed. In the kidney cortex, MT level increased with age, although no correlation was found after middle age. The levels of Cd and Zn also increased with age until middle age; however, they decreased thereafter. These results suggest that age-dependent changes in renal MT levels are associated with accumulation of Cd.

  7. I couldn’t say it is a shame that non Muslims are teaching us the value of the Koran because it helped some become Muslims. Well, other than that it is shame

  8. For many years I wondered about that verse in the Qur’an, I asked many people (some of whom supposedly with knowledge) as to its significance, but never got a satisfactory answer.
Today, I received an email with this information which is very enlightening.
We all should eat more figs and seven times more olives.

The other question is the significance of the fig’s leave and the apple?

  9. can you please send us the original article and the name of the team membres who make this discovery.
I do not want “maganin.com” article because it has no scientific value.
I want the source. You know that science needs precision and needs sources.
every body can came and say “a japanease team discovered” but a scientific say the team of Dr … of … university discovered … in the year …
Science is precision otherwise it’s not science.
    Baraka allaho fikom be precise.

    • Please refer to the previous comments. You will find the source of the original article from where this was translated.

      Regards

    • I would love to receive the original publication by the Japanese researchers. I can believe the claim when I read the original publication. If you have the answer, please email me and I will ever be so grateful.

  10. This is fantastic.

  12. i belive in all what is said. but please tell me in what condition should be the olive and figs, dry . fresh. or other condition. and how frequent we should have and at what quantity since we know the propotion

  13. Dear Bros and Sisters,

This blog and the reference article on ”maganin.com” is the perfect example of the decline of the islamic society. From a society that accepted science and scientific approach to life, to a society tied to fiction and myth. By the way “maganin” is the arabic for “Insane” in plural and the hard “g” denotes the egyptian pronunciation…. Alhamdulillah, that many brother and sisters have asked for the precise reference (which does not seem to exist). So please Mr Navedz, stop spreading such stories and attribute them to Islam. I can assure you that what you do harms Islam more than you can imagine.

    Wa Salamou alaikum

    • Dear Bro,

We believe in Quraan and Sunnah.

Allah will surely reward you for your deeds.
Request everyone to quit the que of doctors and obey the creator Who knows us the best

  15. I’m a big believer in every single letter in the holy Quran; However; when it comes to random studies that aren’t proven or with a weak source, I become a little skeptical. in this case especially due to the source name “maganin” which shouldn’t be listed as a source in the first place.

It might be more effective to perform the search in Japanese.

please let’s find the truth behind this and stop the nonsense of untrusted sources. And if we were able to confirm the results, we may then spread the news. Till then, keep it for your research only rather than weakening the image of Islam because of this.

  20. Dear brothers and sisters,

This is nice to be update and follow scientific news. But, it’s not a good way to approve Qur’an and Islam with science. Qur’an is not a scientific book.
Now, we are very proud that a research has approved holly Qur’an. But, just imagine if tomorrow, another research will approve that there is no relationship between fig and olive. What should we do? Can we accept the first one and ignore the second one?!!! This is the nature of experimental science to change day by day. But, Qur’an is wisdom from Allah and will not be changed. Because the truth is always the truth.
We don’t need to approve our holly Qur’an with scientific researches.

    Kind Regards,
    Mohammad

  21. Navez, you should know your maganin.com is not a proper source. There is no link between Dr. Taha Ibrahim Khalifa findings and any Japanese research! Scientific research has to be cited properly!

  22. These olives and figs are Allah’s Gift for All. we should use it for our Health beneficial-Siraj.

  23. we can say exactly there is one fig word in quran -seven olive words in quran

  24. hi,

I’m a Muslim and i believe in the almighty Allah and his messengers, but when i read or watch some videos on youtube about “some X researchers” converting to Islam because they found a breaking through that was mentioned in the Quran without mentioning their names or working places, makes me wanna puke because it all lies and deception, maybe you work for the mossad or the cia or copy and paste in your blog their lies and nonsense. and thus you help them discredit the true image of Islam.

Other people “non Muslims” will investigate and find about your lies and write about it, that will not benefit Islam at all in the contrary it will demonstrate that Muslims are just liars and tricksters.

As you failed to give the previous inquirers the names of the said researchers, I can say with all confidence that this pseudo-article of yours is pure BULLSHIT.

    have a nice day.

  25. Salam brothers and sisters,
I am just wondering if anyone has more information about the fig and olives, I am doing a project and I wanted to know if there was any more information i could get out of this wonderful subject.

    May Allah (SWT) bless you.

  26. to understand what is really going on with fig and olive , u have to try it , in the morning eat fig and olive oil . just fig with olive oil . keep eating every morning . and then u will know what is it .

  27. In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

    Ladies and Gentlemen:

    Assalamu alykum.

May this find you all in the best of everything by Allah’s Grace.

Allah says we must verify sources of a report, otherwise we will be sorry:
“O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done.” (Qur’an 49:6 by A. Yusuf Ali)

I cannot ascertain that Gentleman Naved is a wicked person. However, he insists on refusing to publish the original source and the mysterious or imagined Japanese Researcher. The Internet and YouTube are full of such claims of scientists converting to Islam upon finding some miraculous facts in Quran. Many of them are just pure lies. You can check our many of these hoaxes in Snopes.com or Urban Legend websites. Will not a believer be afraid of deception in the name of Qur’an or God?

It is sad that the condition of the Umma is so pathetic nowadays and that is despite the warning by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who emphatically impored that some unfortunate members of his Umma (community), in future, may steal out of poverty or even commit adultery, but that his followers will never lie. The hallmark of a Muslim is that he is truthful and meticulously honest. Yet, we see many a Muslim not only lie in their business deals etc., but also, in order to propagate Islam, they are resorting to lies. Very sad, indeed. According to Islam, ” Ends do not justify the means”. Both ends and means must be ethical and grounded on morality. Scientists ( except the atheists) therefore deserve respect because they struggle very hard to find and hold on to the truth, however incomplete that truth may be. Muslims need to learn a lot about ethics and civilization from the West. There was a time the West learned from Muslims. Now the table is turned. We are the recipients.

May God Give Forgive us and Grant guidance to all of the Muslim Umma and the rest of the world. Let us all now pledge to tell the truth. Amen.

A Sufi who is a Seeker After Truth.

  28. There is no doubt that there is so much benefit in the figs and olives due to God’s oath in them its an oath for human beings to pay attention ….but it seems that the Japanese story is a hoax, there is no trace to that story or the original research….!
