Picture Perfect : We Came

hajj

“And proclaim the Pilgrimage among men: they will come to thee on foot and (mounted) on every kind of camel, lean on account of journeys through deep and distant mountain highways;” [Al Quran, Surah Al Hajj, 22:27]

And yes indeed we came. We came from every remote corner of the world. We came from the different economic levels, different education background, different races and different skin colors. We, a blue collar worker from Kerteh, a clove grower from Central Java, a rust engineer from Belgium, a mining worker from South Africa, a factory hand from UK, a surgeon from Cheras, a teacher from Egypt, a civil contractor from Algiers, an onions exporter from Mumbai, a lecturer from Karachi and so on and so forth flocked to the Holy Lands of Madinah and Makkah, as to fulfill the Calling.

We came, brought along with us, the Faith, of however minutes that we have, hoping that it will be increased. The hearts with the black spots of however dirty it were hoping that will be cleaned and the sins will be Forgived, and the Hopes of however high it were and still are, hoping that it will be Granted.

We arrived, at Madinah with tears. We walked the roads of Madinatul Munawarrah, the City of RasulAllah, with all the tender loves that we have for our Prophet. We prostrated at the Raudah with humble hearts that our Prayers will be answered. We visited the Maqam RasulAllah SAW, delivered Salams, as he was sitting there smiling, receiving us. We wet our cheeks in the Masjid-il Nabawi in hoping that we will be accepted as his Ummah and receive his Safaat, in the Days of Resurrection. We were there, silently or openly, crying expressing our never ending loves to the Prophet.

We arrived, at Makkatul Mukarammah with tears and with fears. We were at the House of Allah with other millions yet we felt only us alone there prostrating to the Creator. And everybody felt the same.

“Is not Allah, as our Quran says, Nearer to thee than the vein in thy neck?”
