Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala), through His infinite Mercy and Grace, has created the human being as the “most noble and honourable creation”. If he adorns himself with the noble character and teachings of the noble Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam), he surpasses even the angels in honour.
On the contrary, if he neglects the beautiful teachings of Islam, he will stoop lower than the animals in disgrace. Despite all apparent enjoyments and life of glamour, he will be nothing more than a corpse shrouded in beautiful and expensive clothing. Living in the Western society, it becomes extremely vital to realise this fact and hold fast to the Rope of Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) by following the beautiful teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam).
From amongst the calamities facing the Muslim ‘Ummah in this day and age is accepting the Western culture as the way of life. This Western culture is one where virtue is portrayed as evil, and evil as an acceptable item of society. The media; television, newspapers and magazines play a very important role in influencing the viewers and readers to accept their way of life. As a consequence, the Muslim, who was supposed to have been a beacon light for those wandering in the darkness, and a guide for those who have gone astray, has himself began wandering in the wilderness of the immoralities of the local population. Indecency, promiscuity, obscenity, selfishness, cheating, etc. are not seen as evils in the society we live in and being affected by them is inevitable if measured precautions are not taken.
One great evil being promoted is the filth of homosexuality. Islam being a natural religion, Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) has declared this unnatural act as unlawful. Moreover, no divine religion permits sexual pleasure being derived from the same sex – man from man and woman from woman. This evil and shameless mischief is greatly disliked by Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala). His Curse descends upon those who fulfil their desires by indulging in this vice. The very first community involved in this shameless act were the people of Prophet Lut. Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) engulfed them with disaster and punishment, which stands as a warning for all to come until the Day of Judgement:
“When our decree issued, We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay, spread layer on layer, marked withfire in the Providence of thy Lord (for the destruction of the wicked). And they are never far from the wrongdoers.” (Glorious Quran: 11:82-83)
Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) has mentioned this incident on various occasions in the Quran, and the style everywhere is highly admonishing. Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) has also condemned such persons though various hadith to the extent that committing this unnatural act with one’s wife has also been prohibited. If this is the case with one’s own wife, how would it ever be permissible for a man to derive sexual pleasures from another man or a woman from another woman.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said, “Certainly the thing I fear most on my Ummah is the (wicked) practice of the people of Lut.” (Tirmidhi, Ahmad, Ibn Hajar Haythami)
Once Abul Aswad (radhiAllahu anhu) brought a letter which he showed to one of his students and said, “I bear witness that this letter was dictated by ‘Ali Ibn Abi Taalib (radhiAllahu anhu) to Abul Aswad. It reads, “When men will sexually satisfy themselves with men and women with women, then earthquakes will occur, faces will become transformed and stones will rain down from the skies.”
Our Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) has also said: “May Allah curse him who does what the people of Prophet Lut (alayhis salam) did.” (Ibn Hibbaan)
A LESSON FROM HISTORY
It is a well-known fact that when this wretched disease spread among one nation in the past, Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) caused punishments to rain down from the skies upon them. Allah mentions their story in many places in the Quran. At one place, He says:
“And (We also sent) Lut (as a Messenger). ‘Behold, he said to his people, do you do what is shameful even though you see (that it is wrong;)? Would you really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, you are a grossly ignorant people!’ But his people gave no other answer but this: They said, ‘Drive out the followers of Lut from your city. These are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!’ But We saved him and his family except his wife: We destined her to be of those who lagged behind. And We rained down on them a shower (of stones). And evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but failed to heed).” (Glorious Quran 27:54-58)
Yet in another place, Allah Most High says:
“Do you approach the males of humanity, leaving the wives Allah has created for you? But you are a people who transgress.” (Glorious Quran 26:165-166)
From the first verse, we learn that these people had themselves admitted that the family of Lut (alayhis salam) who had Imaan (belief in Allah) was decent, chaste and morally pure. They also acknowledged that the family of Lut (alayhis salam) refrained from this filthy practice. They realised this since it is natural for every person to immediately recognise the pure way of life inspired by Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) when they see it and also to make out any type of unnatural and perverted behaviour.
In the Tafseer (commentary) of these verses it is mentioned that the people of Lut (alayhis salam) were practicing both homosexuality and lesbianism. When Allah decided to punish them, He commanded Jibreel (alayhis salam) to lift the village of Lut (alayhis salam) to the extent that the angels of the first heaven (sky) could actually hear the barking of their dogs. Jibreel (alayhis salam) then turned them over and dropped them from this tremendous height. Thereafter, Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) caused scorching hot stones to rain down upon them. This is how this nation ended up being an example for the rest of mankind until the Day of Qiyaamah.
Imaam al-Aajuri has said, “Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) has informed you about the despicable act of homosexuality committed by the people of Lut (alayhis salam)) and how He punished them by first snatching away their eyesight. Jibreel (alayhis salam) was then instructed to uproot their cities with all the inhabitants until they were high up into the sky and then turn over their cities upon them. Thereafter they were pelted with stones of clay.”
Such was their punishment that not a single citizen or traveller could save himself from the stones and from being completely destroyed.
“It is said that they were four million in number.” (Ibn Kathir pg. 471 Vol. 2)
Let us reflect! Why did Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) punish them so severely in such a manner that He had never punished any other nation before? Surely their sin must have been really serious for Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) to have punished and destroyed them in this way.
DISGRACE IN THIS WORLD
The acts of homosexuality and lesbianism are certainly a perversion and a serious deviation from the inherent nature of man. These acts of defiance against human nature are also even viler and uglier than adultery. There is consensus among both Muslims and the followers of other religions that lesbianism and homosexuality are evil and filthy practices. This is why it is not surprising to find that Islam so vehemently prohibits it and adopts such a harsh attitude against it. The punishment awaiting such people in the Hereafter has already been explained, but what about their punishment in this world?
Since such type of behaviour was previously totally unknown to the Arab people, there is no record of any such incident having occurred during the time of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) or that he was faced with a case of this nature.
It is established that once Khalid Ibn Waleed (radhiAllahu anhu) found a man in the frontiers of Arabia marrying another man in the way a woman marries a man, so he wrote about it to Abu Bakr v. When Abu Bakr (radhiAllahu anhu) consulted with the Sahabah, Ali (radhiAllahu anhu), who was the severest in his condemnation of it said, “Only one out of the many nations had indulged in it and you all know how Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) had dealt with them. I feel that he should be put to death for the commission of such a vile act.” So Abu Bakr (radhiAllahu anhu) wrote back to Khalid (radhiAllahu anhu) who then ordered for his execution.
Ibn Qassaar and Ibn Taymiyyah (radhiAllahu anhu) have said, “All the Sahabah v were unanimous that such a person should be put to death.”
Jaabir Ibn Zayd (radhiAllahu anhu) used to say, “The prohibition against anal intercourse is far more severe than the prohibition against illegitimate sexual intercourse (with a woman).”
IT’S DANGER IN THIS WORLD
Among the evil consequences of this sin are the many deadly and contagious diseases that result from it. Some of these illnesses are such that medical science – with all its might, power and advanced technology – has failed to combat or even fully comprehend it, let alone curing it. Certainly no one is able to rise above the Will of Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) and escape His Wrath!
Some of these fatal diseases are:
AIDS: As yet, no cure has been found for this disease. It is contracted and spread by various means, but the original cause has been unanimously accepted as perverted sexual acts like homosexuality.
Gonorrhea: This causes inflammation of the testicles, blockage of the urethra, inflammation of the joints and sterility.
Syphilis: This is a type of venereal disease commonly known among the Arabs as ‘The English Disease’ since its origin lies in European societies where free intermingling of the sexes and immorality is rife. It results in insanity, paralysis, blindness and other nerve disorders. It can also lead to blood vessel damage and death.
Genital Ulcers: This disease causes inflammation of the lymphatic glands. It also gives rise to chronic festering of tumours, inflammation of the urethra, severe pain in the joints and swelling of the limbs.
Hepatitis B: Its symptoms include fever, fatigue, nausea and jaundice. It results in chronic hepatitis or liver cancer.
These are only a few of the many deadly diseases caused by perverted sexual behaviour. Could anyone ever desire contracting any of them?
May Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) protect all of us from all types of evil!
My beloved brother! Practicing complete Islam is certainly the key to our success in this world and the Hereafter. Islam has provided us with the solution to problems in every sphere of our lives. Without doubt, the road to saving ourselves is simple and as clear as daylight – and it is to keep ourselves far away from such grievous sins.
The following are some methods, the adoption of whom will enable and help you to do this:
- Make tawbah (sincere repentance) to Allah and turn to Him submissively.
- Stay away from the company of evil people or friends who glamourise and glorify those deeds and things that are sinful and make them appeal to you. The company that the youth keep plays the greatest role in either reforming or corrupting them. Therefore, choose for yourself the company of righteous people who will be of help and benefit to you in matters of your Deen as well as your worldly affairs.
- Keep yourself away from all those things that arouse the passions. Refrain even from looking at the opposite sex or beardless, young lads or even their pictures. This will include the viewing of all types of films, magazines, etc. as you will find them invariably brimming with such pictures.
- Make every effort to get married in order to remain pure and chaste and respond to the call of our beloved Prophet (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) who has said, “O assembly of youth! Those of you who have the means to get married, should do so. And whoever is unable to do so, must keep fasts, for this is certainly a protection for him.” (Bukhaari, Muslim)
- Fast excessively in order to suppress the carnal desires. Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wassallam) has said, “Certainly Shaytaan circulates in (the body of) man like the flowing of blood. So, subdue him by keeping fasts.” (Bukhaari)
- Spend your spare time in activities that will benefit you in some way, because the mind of an idle person becomes the target of sinful thoughts whispered by Shaytaan and your nafs (the driving force towards evil found within human beings).
AND FINALLY MY DEAR BROTHER, O YOUTH!
What is the person who indulges in this evil waiting for? Is he waiting for the moment when death will suddenly overtake him while he is busy committing this sin? Has he given any thought to the condition of his father who had worked so hard to earn a living in order to bring him up and to see to his needs? How proud his father used to be of him when he was young and what expectations did he have of him. Has he thought about the condition of his mother who spent long restless nights awake for the sake of his comfort? Is he now going to repay them with shame and disgrace. Or, is he waiting for death to overtake him while he is in the act of this despicable sin? Death certainly does not fix a time with us nor does it postpone its arrival for anyone, whether young or old!
My dear brother, this precious life is a special gift from our Beloved Creator to us so that we may perform virtuous deeds and gain His Pleasure. In fact, the principal motive behind everything that we do should be the Pleasure of Allah – and this is the real meaning of success. Allah tells us:
“But the Pleasure of Allah is the highest achievement: This is the greatest success.” (Glorious Quran 9: 72)
Our life in this world is also a test from Allah. He has placed us in this world and created certain desires within us. But He has not made this world the place for the fulfillment of our desires. Here, we must fill our hearts with the Fear of Allah and suppress our own desires and give priority to the Wishes and Orders of Allah over our own desires. In return for this, our Allah has promised to reward us with Jannah, the everlasting place of indescribable beauty and happiness that He has reserved for us in the Afterlife.
“And for them who had feared standing before their Rabb (Sustainer) (on the Day of Qiyaamah) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires, Certainly Jannah will be their abode.” (Glorious Quran 79:40-41)
And since Jannah has been created as the actual place for the satisfaction of all our desires, everything there will be according to our wishes. Allah promises:
“Therein shall you have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall you have all that you ask for! A hospitable gift from One Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful!” (Glorious Quran 41 :31-32)
In conclusion, my dear brother, I hope I have been able to illustrate clearly, yet briefly, the Islamic view regarding this sin and some of its harms so that it may serve as an eye opener for those not involved in it and a means of earnestly repenting to Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala) for those who have fallen into this trap of Shaytaan.
It is now your duty, my beloved brother, to inform each and every youth of the dangers of this vice and earn abundant rewards from Allah (Subhanahu ta’ala). I ask Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Powerful to grant all of us the ability to turn to Him in repentance, and to make what I have written and you have read, a witness in our favour and not against us, for Allah Alone grants the Muslims the ability to do what is beneficial for them.

your reasoning is flawed. because homosexuals have never found lacking in any sector of society compared to heterosexuality. they are not less a friend, neighbor, doctor, soldier,counselor, teacher, father, brother,administrator,etc. would you say the same thing of those given to murder, drunkeness, stealing, fraud etc(meaning persons who deemed these acceptable choices of behavior to conduct their lives) with those who were not given over to them?
so if homosexuals can have the same goodness in their lives as heterosexuals then they are equal to heterosexuals. your being uncomfortable with the sexual intimacy between those of the same sex does not take way from the fact that homosexual bonding is about coming together out of mutual love attraction, respect, devotion, affection for a shared committed life together……..the same as with heterosexuals. and as with heterosexuals their sexual intimacy is an act of expressing that committed affection and devotion.
so if, within homosexuality, there contains all the same spiritual goodness as with heterosexuality, then homosexuality is also of god, in spite of any physical differences. because god is spirit, and his spirit rests on those things he approves.

My reasoning is not flawed. I never said that a homosexual cannot be a good neighbour, doctor, etc.
Homosexuality is a moral disorder. It is a moral disease, a sin and corruption… No person is born homosexual, just like no one is born a thief, a liar or murderer. People acquire these evil habits due to a lack of proper guidance and education. This sin, the impact of which makes one’s skin crawl, which words cannot describe, is evidence of perverted instincts, total collapse of shame and honor, and extreme filthiness of character and soul. It is a curse to society as well. Even animals and other creatures are repulsed by this action.
Homosexuality is disgraceful for both men and women. It degrades a person. Islam teaches that men should be men and women should be women. Homosexuality deprives a man of his manhood and a woman of her womanhood. It is the most un-natural way of life. Homosexuality leads to the destruction of family life.
The worst kind of homosexual offender is he who approaches a child. Taking advantage of the child’s innocence and ignorance, the offender lures the child in all imaginable ways and leads him to become familiar with the path of sin. This way the child becomes prey to all evil and is destroyed and unhappy.
Some people do claim that a sodomite is genetic, but this is wrong. A sodomite is an evil habit, like alcohol. It can start as a trail and experiment and then turn into addiction and disease.
There are many counter-arguments to your point of view.
First of all, there are a contingent of Muslims brought up in devout families who identify as gay. Where did they supposedly learn it from?
Second of all, scientific studies show that the sexual orientation of a child is determined by the age of 6, sometimes before birth, so this is clearly not a claim.

Homosexuality is an unnatural sexual disorder and spread in a society like wildfire.
Most people think that it is genetically predisposed but in reality most of them actually have the corrupt mind that failed to overcome their lust.
There may be Bishops to Doctors and Engineers who are Gays but majority of the Homosexuals are always linked with crime, vice activity, and drug addictions and prostitution.
Again, Gays said they were pushed to these kinds of activities as main stream society does not want them to accept or help in normal life. How are they going to stay as normal people without changing their corrupt mind?
That is the reason why nowadays there are million of gay sympathizers than ever before in human history.
These people think that they are doing the right thing by helping the people with psychologically handicapped people.
From Islamic perspective, it is very clear that Homosexuality is Haram. We still can help these people

You are entitled to your own beliefs about homosexuality. However, I have to argue against the lack of scientific facts given when discussing diseases which you attribute to homosexuality.

First of all, AIDS is a syndrome, not a disease. The original cause is HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). I feel compelled to add that a virus is an infective agent that affects ALL types of life forms. Furthermore, viruses are NOT created by any form of sexual activity- they can only be TRANSMITTED by sexual activity. Big difference. Also, the cause of AIDS has NOT been unanimously accepted as homosexuality. First of all, homosexuality is broadly defined as sexual behaviour, sexual attraction and romantic attraction to people of the same gender. These do not CAUSE disease. Unprotected sex causes diseases, which is why many heterosexuals have HIV/AIDS. That much is simple common sense. You cannot say that because someone is attracted to someone of their own gender, that they invented a disease. That follows no logic whatsoever. Also, you do not seem to realize that AIDS cannot be contracted and spread- HIV is. Furthermore, AIDS is not an actual disease; it is the final result of contracting another disease as a result of a weakened immune system. Hence someone dying from complications of flu is described as suffering from AIDS- the flu being the final result of HIV infection. You also do not seem to realize that HIV can be contracted from sharing infected needles, injury and needle stick injury. Also, the virus was transmitted from animals to humans, proving that it was not created by homosexual activity. I would suggest you do more medical research on HIV and AIDS before spreading disproven myths about it.

Gonorrhea affects both men and women regardless of sexual orientation. The best defence is not having promiscuous and or unprotected sex. This is scientific fact.

This is completely untrue. Syphilis is caused by the spriochete bacterium Treponema pallidum. It was not invented by the English. Bacteria are universal and living everywhere. Medicine was not advanced enough in Arabia for doctors to accurately diagnose syphilis, so they cannot prove that this was a European disease. It is, again, caused by promiscuity, and not exclusive to homosexuals. The wording of your description implicitly acknowledges this. Also, syphilis can be cured, by the way.
