Ramadan : But I don’t want Forgiveness!!
For almost every one of us, there’s something we know we need to change but simply won’t. How we think we know ourselves and our intentions, but really, we don’t. But in Ramadan, a lot of unpleasant things come to surface because the devils are chained and the depths of our hearts are exposed.
Yet most of us still manage to wriggle out of obedience to Allah, and the excuses abound… but in each excuse, there’s one key component that’s missing. Allah.
I don’t mean His name is absent. For most of us, it’s actually Allah’s name we use to justify our wrong.
Allah is Forgiving. Allah knows my heart. Allah’s my judge…

Ramadan : Teaching Children the Five Pillars
Source: saudilife | By Aisha Al Hajjar, AMANI
TEACHING deen (religion) to our children is a huge obligation upon all parents. Generally, Muslim children begin to imitate the movements of salat (daily prayers) long before they are able to speak a word, let alone understand its significance or recite surats (verses of Quran), masha’Allah. In fact, as soon as they are able to crawl (9 or 10 months old), children of practicing Muslims will typically attempt to make sujoud (prostration) when they hear, “Allahu Akhbar (meaning Allah is the Greatest, the opening phrase of the daily salat),” or see the prayer rug put down.

The Beautiful Wisdom of Fasting
Edited version of Shaikh Muhammad bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen's abridged work Majaalis Shahr Ramadan [pp. 41-43] that was translated by Isma'eel Alarcon. (al-manhaj.com)
FASTING—from dawn to dusk—is an act of worship done for Allah. The ‘Abd draws closer to His Lord by staying away from things he loves and desires like food, drink and sex. As a result, he achieves a sense of truthfulness in faith and completeness in his servitude to Allah, thereby increasing his love for Allah and longing for the reward Allah has prepared for His true slaves.
This is because the person who fasts gives up what he likes and desires only for the sake of something that Read more ...
Ramadan : What type of a Saa’im are you?
Saa'im comes from the Arabic word Sawm, which literally means to abstain [from something]. Islamically, Sawm means to fast or abstain from certain things from dawn to dusk. The Saa'im, therefore, is the fasting person.
ARE YOU…
the type of person who finds fasting burdensome? Do you consider yourself to be doing a great favour by fasting?
Usually happens with the younger generation. Do you fail to complete your schoolwork and try to get off with the excuse of “Madam, I didn’t do my work because I was fasting.” Yes, you are fasting. So What? All Muslims do. Does that mean you will stop all your daily work just because you are fasting. Read more ...
The Freedom of Responsibility
Yusuf `alayhi sallatu wa sallam (may Allah send his peace and blessings on him) faced many difficulties in life; over a period of decades he was thrown into a well by his brothers as a young boy, sold into slavery, seduced by a beautiful and powerful woman in his youth and then thrown into jail for refusing adultery. In the first two trials he had no choice, but in the last he chose to not commit adultery and was punished for it. Allah describes what follows in these verses:
“And women in the city said, ‘The wife of al-’Azeez is seeking to seduce her slave boy; he has impassioned her with love. Indeed, we see her [to be] in clear error.’” Read more ...

Be Of The Sabiqoon!
I nearly missed fajr (morning prayer) the other day. My alarm rang, and I looked at the time, thinking “the time for fajr prayer has just started, so I can snooze for just a few more minutes.” As we all know, ‘a few more minutes’ always turns into manymore minutes and when I opened my eyes the second time, there were only 10 minutes left until sunrise. After a very rushed prayer, I remembered this beautiful ayah (verse):
“Then we caused to inherit the Book those We have chosen of Our servants; and among them is he who wrongs himself, and among them is he who is moderate, and among them is he who is foremost in good deeds by permission Read more ...

Settler-run ‘tourist attraction’ teaches guests how to shoot Palestinians
Illegal settlers in the West Bank have set up a program for tourists of all ages to learn how to shoot “terrorists”, a term the organizers of the program not-so-implicitly define as Arabs, specifically Palestinians.
The program invites tourists from around the world to learn how to shoot and kill in three seconds or less. The tourists profiled in a recent Ynet report are an American family seeking the “thrill” of firing live rounds at makeshift targets designed to represent Palestinians living in the West Bank.
