Reaching the Messenger of Allah ?

Source : SuhaibWebb | By : Fawzia Syed I walked faster and faster, hundreds of women pushing me forward. Women all around me cried in love and in pain. They pushed forth with a fervor that emanated from their hearts and took hold of their bodies. I continued to move forward. My heart raced; I don’t know why. I might have been nervous. I might have been anxious. All I knew was that my heart felt as if it would beat right out of my body. My tongue fervently repeated, “Allahumma salli ‘alaa sayiddina Muhammad…” It was almost a year ago and this was my first visit: I was going to be in the presence of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon Read more ...

Listen to this Quran…

“A Quran falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.” - Anonymous Everyone has certain ayaat that really shake them and bring everything into perspective. For me, it’s ayah 30 of Surah al Furqan. Gets me every single time. Then the Messenger will say: “O my Lord! Truly my people took this Quran for just foolish nonsense.” Tafsir ibn Kathir: “And those who disbelieve say: “Listen not to this Quran, and make noise in the midst of it.” (Quran, 41:26). When the Prophet (salallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) would recite Quran to them, they would talk nonsense or speak about something else, so that they would not hear it. Read more ...

Islam is the Deen of Fitrah (pure nature)

Hanzalah Al-Usayyidi (Radiallahu Anhu) who was one of the scribes of Rasulullah (Sallallahu ‘alahi wasallam), reported: I met Abu Bakr (Radiallahu Anhu) he said: “How are you O Hanzalah?” I said, “Hanzalah has become a hypocrite”. Israel Casually Bars UN Fact Finding Team

Source : Palestine Chronicle - By Sami Zaatari Imagine if Iran had recently denied allowing a UN fact-finding team from entering their country to inspect and investigate their atomic energy program. What kind of reaction would most likely come out? With no doubt, the United States, as well as Israel would begin to sound the drums of condemnation, and would point to this act as further proof of how sinister Iran is. Yet this is precisely what has recently happened, although it was not the dreaded Iran that barred a UN fact-finding team, rather it was none other than Israel. There has hardly been any negative reaction or condemnation for Israel’s act. Read more ...

Balandi is America’s My Lai

Source : Palestine Chronicle - By Ramzy Baroud Like Vietnam, Afghanistan is a lost cause, and more troops will do nothing but push the US deeper into the quagmire. Some of us warned about the Vietnamisation of Afghanistan as early as the first months of the war in 2001. The Afghans are a proud people with a long and formidable history of resistance to foreign occupation. Much of the country remains outside US-Nato control and influence even today. However, with no clear strategic goals for the US and its allies, and dubious ethical standards, Afghanistan has become a killing zone of unforeseen magnitude. The latest atrocious episode against the Afghans Read more ...

Three Steps of Knowledge

Source : SuhaibWebb | By - SHAZIA AHMAD The great scholar Sufyan ath-Thawri (may God be pleased with him) is reported to have said, “Knowledge is three hand-spans: the first breeds arrogance, the second breeds humility, and in the third, you realize you know nothing.” When one first embarks on religious studies, one may feel a heady sense of confidence at gaining proficiency in the Islamic sciences that may lead one to arrogance. With further study and time, however, one may begin to realize that issues that once seemed so clear-cut are actually more complex than one initially believed, and that there is great depth in matters one first perceived Read more ...
