Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) as saying: "Recite the Holy Quran to seek the pleasure of Allah before a people will come into existence who will observe formalities in the recitation of Quran, make haste and do not recite properly with a pause." [Abu Dawud transmitted it.] A similar tradition is reported on the authority Sahl bin Sa'd in Sunan of Abu Dawud. "But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?" (Surah Al Qamar 54:22) One of the miracles of the Quran, is the ease with which it is memorised by young and old.
