Making the Quran a source of Livelihood

Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) as saying: "Recite the Holy Quran to seek the pleasure of Allah before a people will come into existence who will observe formalities in the recitation of Quran, make haste and do not recite properly with a pause." [Abu Dawud transmitted it.] A similar tradition is reported on the authority Sahl bin Sa'd in Sunan of Abu Dawud. In Love with the Word It never ceases to intrigue us when we actually meet a hafiz. Someone who has committed the entire Quran to memory, word for word. "But We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?"
