On the authority of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
"A man used to do sinful deeds, and when death came to him, he said to his sons, 'After my death, burn me and then crush me, and scatter the powder in the air, for by Allah, if Allah has control over me, He will give me such a punishment as He has never given to anyone else.'
When he died, his sons did accordingly.

After the Prophet sal Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam passed away, Abu Idrees Al Khawlanee (d. 80 AH/699-700 CE) in Dimishq (Damascus), went to Masjid Al-Kabeer. In the masjid he saw a group of people sitting around one man. He described the man as smiling very much and people were sitting around him asking questions. So Abu Idrees Al-Khawlanee asked, “Who is this man?”

This is a question that many of us ask ourselves and it is a very good question. The Prophet (peace be upon him said): “Every person goes forth in the morning trading in his own self. Abu Muslim said, “I do not hear.”

The Quran and Sunnah both emphasize the importance of time in the life of a Muslim. Allah swears in the beginning of many Surahs (chapters) by time or moments in time, for example Allah Says (what means):
“By the dawn and the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Thul-Hijjah)...” [Surah Al Fajr 89: 1-2]

What is Shabaan?
Shabaan is the name of the (eighth) month of the Islamic lunar calendar, and it is so called because in this month the Arabs used to disperse (tasha'aba) in search of water, or it was said that it is so called because it sha'aba (branches out or emerges) i.e., it appears between the months of Rajab and Ramadan.
Is it Sunnah to fast the entire month of Sha’baan?
Praise be to Allah.
It is mustahabb to fast a great deal in the month of Sha’baan.
It was narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to fast the whole of Sha’baan.

Narrated by 'Amir:
I heard An-Nu'man bin Bashir on the pulpit saying, "My father gave me a gift but 'Amra bint Rawaha (my mother) said that she would not agree to it unless he made Allah's Apostle as a witness to it.
So, my father went to Allah's Apostle and said, 'I have given a gift to my son from 'Amra bint Rawaha, but she ordered me to make you as a witness to it, O Allah's Apostle!'
Allah's Apostle asked, 'Have you given (the like of it) to everyone of your sons?'
He replied in the negative.
Allah's Apostle said, 'Be afraid of Allah, and be just to your children.'
My father then returned and took back his gift."
